February Half Term: Flip Out, Clue Quest & Jack Petchey Wins!

February Half Term: Flip Out, Clue Quest & Jack Petchey Wins!

Last week saw the first half term of the year and in usual CYP fashion it was jam-packed with some very exciting trips. On Monday our members escaped the rain and went on a trip to the live escape room ClueQuest in Kings Cross. The team very cleverly escaped the room in time!

On Wednesday members (and staff!) got the chance to test out their trampolining skills at Flip Out in Barking.

Friday’s Youth Club was very eventful as Senior Youth Worker Isoa presented a young person with the first Jack Petchey Outstanding Achiever award of the year. With thanks to recent funding from The Jack Petchey Foundation, we are now part of their grant programme which enables young people to publicly recognise their peers’ achievements and awarding them with £250 which they can put towards youth club projects. Our Outstanding Achievement award was granted to Emilia for her progress in CYP. Emilia decided to spend her award on a movie night for the project with snacks and baked goods. Well done Emilia!

It’s also been a very eventful week for our staff as our Girls’ Youth Worker Jennifer has now taken over the Employability & Enterprise Worker from Rochelle. Jennifer will carry on her role as the Girls’ Youth Worker as well as developing and managing our employability programme.

We also have just started looking for a new Trustee for our board. If you have experience with working in youth work and are willing to support us with the best practice in youth work delivery then we’d like to hear from you. To find out more click here.
