Seasons Greetings from CYP & End of Year Round-up!

What a year it has been at CYP! 2019 has been the biggest and most successful year yet of CYP and we are so thankful to anyone that made this happen. CYP have had so many highlights this year but here are a select few.

Back in March this year we were delighted to receive funding from The Big Lottery in a three-year deal to help young people. This funding has help fund three new posts and saw us employ a Senior Youth Worker, Girls Youth Worker, and an Employability & Enterprise Worker. Our expanding team is working really well and we are looking forward to helping more young people in the coming year.

Over the past year, CYP members have time and time again proved themselves to be talented, passionate, and ambitious! The Youth Stage at this summer’s Cally Festival showed this with many talented singers, poets, musical theatre and rap which just shows how diverse and eclectic CYP members can be.

During the summer young people took part in a whole manner of activities and events. One of the most notable activities was the summer residential in which brave young people climbed Snowdownia. As well as this, young people got the chance to write, star, and produce a short film called Secure The Bag. The final film can now be viewed here.

In the autumn we opened our first ever exhibition in collaboration with Ted Baker. The exhibition ‘Changes’ explores the meaning of community and also showcases the amazing talent of young people at CYP.

Whether you’re a volunteer, staff member, funder, delivery partner or young person we would like to thank you for your support throughout 2019 and we are very excited to see what happens at CYP in 2020.
