Stephen Griffith Interview on BLM Monday

Last week, our very own Project Director Stephen Griffith was interviewed by CYP member Moses Gomes on Insaan Culture Club’s BLM Monday. Every Monday, Insaan Culture Club hosts BLM Mondays on their Instagram, and is run by our own youth worker Peter Sogbodjor. They will be running weekly competitions and interviewing some very interesting people so don’t miss it! In other Instagram-related news, youth volunteer Antonette Bowen has been taking over Music Education Islington’s Instagram page in the run-up to their online event in April. In other news, we have been working with local companies Argent, Kings Cross Recruit, and MW5 to develop an employability boot camp programme for when lockdown is eased. The programme will aim to deliver training sessions to a group of young people with access to opportunities in training, work experience, and employment. With unemployment sadly being on the rise, we hope this will greatly benefit CYP members.

Young architect Joshua Ndjeka, the CYP Football team, and young CYP members have been consulting a team of architects on the redevelopment of the sports area in Bingfield Park. Providing a great opportunity for youth voice to influence Islington, as well as provide great experience for young people.
The architects have also agreed to support CYP members to continue to develop the Peace Garden in Bingfield Park in honour of late CYP member Nedim Bilgin.
