The Wellcome Collection: CYP x CALLY

If you head down the Euston Road, you may stumble upon a little art collection CYP has been working on for the past year. You can find our installation at The Wellcome Collection; a free exhibition where you can see five short films exploring the question of being human during Covid-19 through poetry and monologues.
The project was led by several young people from Copenhagen Youth Project, and features perspectives drawn from local communities in Caledonian and Barnsbury wards, accompanied by footage from Black Lives Matter protests.

The monologues are performed by older CYP members Moses Gomes-Santos and spoken word by Samuel King with background music produced by Amzdatkid, an attendee at CYP. Our very own youth worker Chelsea Sabine, and CYP volunteer Antonette Bowen also wrote some of the monologues. The production was also led by Blanguage.
This project is part of Wellcome Collection’s Youth Programme in partnership with Copenhagen Youth Project. Free admission, open Tuesday-Sunday until 30 September 2021. We hope to see some of you at the exhibition supporting the young creatives who have used this platform to uplift voices and share positivity!
