Work Experience

Earlier this month, CYP had two of its members partake in a week of work experience. Throughout the week they got to work in different areas of the youth club, beginning with working at the Cally Festival as part of the team putting together the youth stage.

On the Tuesday they got to support on the refugee program, help deliver cooking club for the primary school students, and assisted at youth club in the evening.

On Wednesday, they had a corporate day working with FishTank at Havas. Here, they took part in social media management sessions and had the opportunity to learn about the life and work of entrepreneurs.

Thursday brought the opportunity to shadow the Youth Club director, Stephen Griffith at meetings, another round of cooking club, and finish the day by attending the DBace awards. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet thriving award winners and creatives such as casting director Ola Christian.

On the Friday they focused their efforts on helping at football club, and rounded off the week supoorting the evening youth club session. It was a great week of learning and expanding skill sets, and we look forward to providing more opportunities in the future.
