We are thrilled to announce that the Girdlers’ Company Court has generously agreed to donate £5,500 to the Copenhagen Youth Project (CYP). This vital funding will support the costs associated with our mentoring sessions for one year, before being reviewed for potential continuation.

Our Mentoring Programme

CYP is dedicated to empowering young people by providing them with opportunities to grow, learn, and develop essential life skills. Our mentoring programme plays a crucial role in this mission, offering guidance and support peers to young individuals who may be facing personal or social challenges, from their own peers.

We run an innovative Peer Mentoring Scheme, which provides young people with opportunities to train and work as volunteer mentors at CYP. This allows them to take on responsibility, develop professional skills, and become positive role models for younger members. Participants are offered training to aid their personal and professional development, leading to a positive impact not only on them but also on the wider community.

What makes our mentoring programme unique is that young people remain members while taking on roles of responsibility. This structure helps them understand how to behave appropriately and adapt to different environments and responsibilities. More importantly, mentors collect valuable insights directly from young people and provide feedback on CYP projects, ensuring our services reflect their needs, interests, challenges, and aspirations.
