We are pleases to announce that we secured a full grant from the Goldsmiths’ Centre to deliver Forged Beyond Gold, our new jewellery making programme designed to expand creative and career opportunities for young people aged 16–25.

The five‑week initiative will introduce participants to wax carving, ring‑making and grillz design, supported by specialist makers and sessions held both at CYP and within professional workshop environments. The programme focuses on young people from marginalised backgrounds who often have limited access to creative or cultural opportunities.

Participants will produce up to three rings and three grillz, with their work showcased in a final exhibition at FishTank Gallery in King’s Cross. The project also includes demonstrations in stone setting, polishing and digital design, offering insight into both traditional and contemporary goldsmithing practices.

The initiative is designed as a stepping stone into further training and education, and aims to expand horizons, nurture resilience, and inspire lifelong creativity in the next generation.

We are incredibly grateful to the Goldsmiths’ Centre for awarding us this grant and for recognising the importance of creating accessible creative pathways for young people. Their support enables us to offer high‑quality, hands‑on experiences that many of our young people would not otherwise have access to.
